Access Guide
Resort Information
- This adults-only resort is set in a hillside and consists of 2 five-storey buildings which are set in gardens. It is accessible via some level pathways with many steep hills and some steps. There are 3 lifts.
- This resort has the following facilities: a spa, a gym, a sauna and treatment rooms. There may be additional charges for some of these facilities, for more information please contact TUI or the resort.
- The resort has 120 rooms available. None of these rooms have adaptations for disabled people.
- Adjoining rooms are not available.
- There are 2 restaurants.
- There are 2 swimming pools (excluding room pools).
- Toilet and changing facilities available include: step-free standard toilets.
- Standard toilet facilities can be found in the reception lobby and on level -1.
- The resort has the following available: a panic alarm.
- There is no medication fridge.
- Guests can hire mobility equipment locally.
- The resort has a list of local suppliers.
- Guests can use their own mobility scooter at the resort.
- Guests can store and charge their mobility scooters in their rooms. Some of the rooms are only accessible via steps.
- We have been told that assistance dogs are not allowed in the resort.
- This resort is aware of the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme.
- There is not a Safe/Quiet Place available in the resort.
- WiFi is available throughout the resort.
- A free shuttle bus is available to transport guests to Sorrento.
Entrance
- The entrance to the resort is located at the front of the building, at the top of the steep slope.
- There is step-free access via slope at the entrance to the building.
- The slope is steep, over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There are automatic doors at the entrance, which open by sliding.
- The width of the door opening is 160cm.
- The doors have a high colour contrast.
- A member of resort staff is available for assistance at this entrance.
Reception
- There is step-free level access to reception.
- The reception has patterned backgrounds which may affect the ability of someone to lip read.
- The reception desk is too high for a wheelchair user.
- The reception does not have a hearing assistance system.
- There is hard flooring.
- The flooring is shiny and patterned.
- There are coffee tables and armchairs available in this reception area.
- There is space for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre in the seating area (150cm x 150cm).
- There is background noise which varies depending on the time of day.
Getting Around the Building
- This building contains a main reception, bars, restaurants and a gym.
- The building has multiple floors which can be accessed via stairs and lift.
- The following areas have step-free level access: the toilets, the lift, the main buffet restaurant, the terrace and the entertainment.
- The following areas have step-free access via steep or very steep ramps or slopes: the main entrance.
- There is hard flooring.
- Some flooring is shiny and patterned.
Lift
- The lift is located to the left hand side of the reception desk.
- The floors that can be accessed from this lift are -1 to 4.
- This lift is a standard lift.
- Externally the lift has: controls that are not at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm), Braille markings, buttons with a high colour contrast to the surroundings, a door with a low colour contrast to the surroundings and tactile markings.
- The lift does have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
- The lift door opening width is 85cm.
- The dimensions of the lift are 115cm x 164cm.
- There are other lifts which vary in size at the same location.
- Internally the lift has; Braille markings, tactile markings, controls at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm) and a mirror to aid reversing.
Getting Around the Resort
- The paths around the resort are made from: artificial grass, concrete, tarmac and gravel.
- The following areas have step-free access via steep or very steep ramps or slopes: the main entrance and the pool area.
- The following areas do not have step-free access: the gym, the spa and the poolside bar.
Toilet (Reception Lobby)
- The female toilet was surveyed.
- There is also a male toilet in the same location.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 80cm.
- The width of the door into the toilet cubicle is not over 75cm.
- The wash basin tap type is twist/turn.
