Access Guide
Resort Information
- The resort is in a central location in Benalmadena, with local amenities and public transport close by.
The resort overlooks the beach and has access onto the promenade from the grounds. - This resort has the following facilities: a spa, beach access, a gym, a swimming pool and a fitness suite. There may be additional charges for some of these facilities, for more information please contact TUI or the resort.
- Adjoining rooms are not available.
- The resort has terraces in the outdoor areas which are reached by steps or ramps.
There is a lift which takes guests between the main resort building and the main seating, pools, and beach areas. - There is 1 restaurant.
- There are 2 swimming pools (excluding room pools).
- Toilet and changing facilities available include: step-free standard toilets.
- Standard toilet facilities can be found in the reception area. Additional toilets with stepped access can be found on level -1.
- There is no medication fridge.
- Guests cannot hire mobility equipment from the resort.
- Guests cannot use their own mobility scooter at the resort.
- We have been told that assistance dogs are not allowed in the resort.
- This resort is not aware of the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme.
- There is not a Safe/Quiet Place available in the resort.
- WiFi is available in the main building, at the reception and in the rooms.
Getting Around the Resort
- The resort has terraces in the outdoor areas which are reached by steep ramps or steps.
There is a lift which takes guests between the main resort building and the main seating, pools, and beach areas. - The paths around the resort are made from: artificial grass, tiles and grass.
- There is no seating along the pathways.
Entrance (Main Resort Building)
- The entrance to the resort is located at the front of the main building, on Avenida Antonio Machado.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance to the resort.
- The ramp is steep, between 75cm and 150cm wide, with a handrail on the right going up.
- This entrance has a bell.
- The following are not at a recommended height: the bell (above 120cm).
- There are automatic doors at the entrance, which open by sliding.
- The width of the door opening is 155cm.
- The doors have a low colour contrast.
- There is a second set of automatic doors at the entrance, which open by sliding.

Reception

Getting Around the Building (Main Resort Building)
- This building contains bars, a main reception, an indoor pool and restaurants.
- The building has multiple floors which can be accessed via lift and stairs.
- The following areas have step-free access via steep or very steep ramps or slopes: the reception area, the card room, the bar, the buffet restaurant, the Culinarium restaurant and all rooms.
- There is hard flooring and low pile carpet.
- Some flooring is shiny and patterned.
- The majority of walkway widths are between 120cm and 180cm, with high colour contrast between the walls and floor.
- Lighting levels are low in some areas.
Toilet (Reception - Female)
- The female toilet was surveyed.
- There is step-free level access into the toilet.
- The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a medium colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door into the toilet cubicle is not over 75cm.
- There is an ambulant cubicle available with a dropdown rail on the right.
- The wash basin tap type is push.
Toilet (Reception - Male)
- The male standard toilet was surveyed.
- There is step-free access into the toilet, via a ramp.
- The ramp is steep between 75cm and 150cm wide, with handrails on both sides.
- The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a medium colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door into the toilet cubicle is not over 75cm.
- There is an ambulant cubicle available with a dropdown rail on the right and a vertical grab rail on the left.
- The wash basin tap type is push.
Lift (Main)
- The lift is located at the rear of the reception area.
- The floors that can be accessed from this lift are G, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
- This lift is a standard lift.
- Externally the lift has: controls that are not at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm), a door with a high colour contrast to the surroundings and buttons with a high colour contrast to the surroundings.
- The lift does have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
- The lift door opening width is 77cm.
- The dimensions of the lift are 102cm x 124cm.
- There are other lifts which are similar in size at the same location.
- Internally the lift has; controls that are not at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm), buttons with a medium colour contrast to the surroundings, a mirror to aid reversing and a visual floor indicator.

Stairs (Main)

- There are 15+ steps between floors with resting points (landings).
- The stairs are clearly marked and have handrails on both sides.

- The stairs have handrails on both sides and are clearly marked.
Lift (Grounds)
- The lift is located at the rear of the ground floor room corridor.
- This lift is a standard lift.
- Externally the lift has: a door with a low colour contrast to the surroundings, controls at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm) and buttons with a low colour contrast to the surroundings.
- The lift does have a recommended turning space (150cm x 150cm) in front of it.
- The lift door opening width is 80cm.
- The dimensions of the lift are 140cm x 120cm.
- Internally the lift has; a visual floor indicator, tactile markings, Braille markings, a separate door to exit and controls at a recommended height (between 90cm - 120cm).
- The grounds cover levels 0, -1, -2, -3.
