Access Guide
Getting to (Sunset Bar)
- Sunset Bar is on level 2 of the main hotel building, through Carob Lounge and across the terrace.
- The most accessible route has a slight ramp/slope (which bypasses any steps), steps and automatic doors.
- The nearest toilet with adaptations for disabled people is on Level 2 of the main building, opposite Carob Lounge, please click here for more information (new tab)
Entrance
- The entrance to the bar is located on Level 2 of the hotel, on the terrace.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance to the bar.
- The ramp is steep, over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There are 3 steps, which are unmarked, with no handrails.
- The ramp overcomes the steps.
- There are manual doors at the entrance, which open away from you.
- The width of the door opening is 138cm.
- The doors have a low colour contrast.
Bar
- The bar serves drinks.
- The following are available: drinking straws, takeaway cups, a portable card machine for payment and room charge.
- There is background noise which varies, depending on the time of day.
- None of the counters are at the recommended height for wheelchair users (between 76cm - 85cm) .
- There is step-free level access around the area.
- The flooring inside is hard.
- The flooring is shiny.
Seating
- There is step-free level access around some of the area.
- There is space for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre in the seating area (150cm x 150cm).
- The seating includes: high stools, chairs with armrests, sofas and armchairs.
- The seating area has: room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- Some of the tables are suitable for wheelchair users (between 70cm - 80cm and free from obstruction).
- The flooring inside is hard.
- The flooring is shiny.
- The flooring outside is hard.
- There is background noise which varies, depending on the time of day.
- Lighting levels in this seating area are low in the evening.
- Terrace seating is available around the bar, which is shared with Carob Lounge.
Some of this seating is before the steps and ramp leading to the Sunset Bar entrance.
