Access Guide
Resort Information
- The coastal resort is located in Kalawy, south of Hurghada in eastern Egypt.
- The sea-front resort consists of one main building and several smaller accommodation buildings. Access is mostly step-free via ramps of varying degrees and level pathways.
- This resort has the following facilities: rooms with some adaptations for disabled people, beach access, swimming pools, a water park and restaurants.
- The resort has 533 rooms available. 2 of these rooms have adaptations for disabled people.
- Standard rooms with adjoining rooms are available.
- There are 5 restaurants.
- There are 4 swimming pools (excluding room pools).
- Toilet and changing facilities available include: a toilet with some adaptations for disabled people and standard toilets.
- Toilet facilities with some adaptations for disabled people can be found near the pool bar.
- Standard toilet facilities can be found in the reception lobby, near the pool bar, near the restaurant and next to the beach.
- Baby change facilities can be found within the female toilet in the reception lobby.
- There is a medication fridge available on request.
- Guests cannot hire mobility equipment from the resort.

Entrance
- The entrance to the resort is located on Safaga to El Queseir Road in Kelawy, south of Hurghada.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance to the resort.
- The ramp is slight, over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- There are automatic doors at the entrance, which open by sliding.
- The width of the door opening is 150cm.
Reception
- There is a reception desk at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The reception does not have a hearing assistance system.
- There is hard flooring.
- The height of the reception desk is 112cm. The height of the check-in table is 62cm.
The rear exit doors measure 120cm wide. The ramp from the exit door measures 142cm wide and has handrails on right going down.
Getting Around the Building
- This building contains a main reception, shops, bars, restaurants, an indoor pool, a gym and sports courts.
- The building has multiple floors which can be accessed via stairs and ramp.
- There is step-free access from the main entrance doors to the reception desk and from the reception desk to the rear exit doors.
There is a lift available on request to access the spa on the 1st floor or the rooms on the 1st and 2nd floor (usually just a service lift). - There is a ramped kerb to access the main entrance.
From reception there is a slight ramp to access the standard toilets in the reception lobby and a slight ramp to access the entertainment in the amphitheatre.
There are many slight ramps around the resort. - From the rear exit door in reception, there is a steep ramp to access the terrace area, the rooms with adaptations for disabled people, the restaurant, the pools, the beach and activities.
- There is stepped access to the spa on the 1st floor and to the guest rooms on the 1st and 2nd floor.
- There is no lift for guests, however, disabled people may request the use of the service lift to access the spa and the rooms on levels 1 and 2.
Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (Pool Area)
- There is step-free access into the toilet, via a ramp.
- The ramp is steep, over 150cm wide, with no handrails.
- The toilet door is manual, opens outwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the toilet door opening is 95cm.
- The toilet door has a twist lock.
- The dimensions of the cubicle are 224cm x 184cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
- There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the toilet as you look at it, but it is obstructed.
- The lateral transfer space is 80cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
- There is a push button flush on top of the cistern.
- There is no dropdown rail.
- Fixtures within the toilet include: a toilet roll holder, an emergency alarm, a wash basin, a hand dryer and a soap dispenser.
- The toilet has a mirror.
- There is no shelf in the toilet.
- The cubicle has a pedal bin.
- There are no coat hooks.
- The toilet has a shower cubicle.
- The width of the doorway into the toilets is 120cm.
There is a fixed horizontal handrail on the transfer side of the toilet.
There is a step-free shower cubicle next to the wash basin.
Toilet (Reception Lobby)
- The female toilet was surveyed.
- There is also a male toilet in the same location.
- There is step-free access into the toilet, via a ramp.
- The ramp is steep, between 75cm and 150cm wide, with a handrail on the left going down.
- The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a high colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- There is a baby change facility which is not at a recommended height (75cm).
- The width of the door into the standard toilets is 81cm. The cubicle doors measure 66cm.
The height of the baby changing table is 108cm.
