Getting to the Room (5004)

  • The average walking time to the room is 4 minutes.
  • Exit the reception lobby via the automatic doors and proceed down the two steep ramps towards the lifts. Take the lift to level 1.
    On exiting the lift, take a right turn and then a left turn into the room corridor. The door to room 5004 is on the left hand side.
  • The most accessible route to the room has step-free level access, a standard lift, steep ramps/slopes and automatic doors.
  • The majority of walkway widths on the route to the room are between 120cm and 180cm.
  • Some flooring on the route is shiny and patterned.

Room (5004)

  • This room has adaptations for disabled people. There are 3 rooms of this type in the resort.
  • All rooms with adaptations for disabled people are similar to the one surveyed.
  • There is step-free level access into the room.
  • The room door is manual, opens inwards and has a medium colour contrast.
  • The room door opening is 90cm wide.
  • The bed type is twin.
  • The top of the mattress is 53cm from the floor.
  • The space under the bed is 14cm high.
  • Furniture cannot be moved to enable a turning space (150cm x 150cm) next to the bed .
  • There is hard flooring.
  • Seating in the room includes: a chair without armrests.
  • The following adaptations are available: a desk at a recommended height (between 72cm - 76cm), adapted wardrobes for seated users, light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm), plug sockets at a recommended height (between 40cm - 100cm) and bedside plug sockets.
  • The room has a fridge. This cannot be used to store medication.
  • The room does have an emergency alarm.
  • The room does have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal room door, the room floor and the ensuite door.
  • Balcony / Terrace View
    • There is a balcony. The door is over 75cm wide and has a small threshold .
    • The balcony has: a patio table and chairs with armrests.

Ensuite (5004 - Left Hand Transfer)

  • The ensuite door opens away from you and has an opening width of 90cm.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to turn in the ensuite (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is a lateral transfer space on the left hand side of the toilet with a minimum width of 60cm .
  • There is hard flooring.
  • The toilet seat is 53cm from the floor.
  • There is a dropdown rail on both sides of the toilet seat.
  • Fixtures that are in reach from the toilet include: the toilet roll holder and the wash basin.
  • The taps are lever mixer.
  • The ensuite does have an emergency alarm.
  • The ensuite does not have a flashing fire alarm.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: the floor, both dropdown rails and the toilet seat.
  • The ensuite has: a wheel-in shower.
  • There is a turning space in the shower for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is a fixed height shower head and an adjustable, detachable shower head at a recommended height (between 105cm - 185cm).
  • There is a flip-down shower seat.
  • There are no dropdown rails for the shower.
