Toilet with Adaptations for Disabled People (B Block - Left Hand Transfer)

  • There is step-free level access into the toilet.
  • There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the toilet door.
  • The toilet door is manual, opens inwards and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
  • The width of the toilet door opening is 90cm.
  • The toilet door has a push button lock.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 150cm x 210cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the toilet as you look at it.
  • The lateral transfer space is 80cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
  • There is a push button flush on top of the cistern.
  • There is a dropdown rail on both sides of the seat.
  • The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: the toilet roll holder.
  • The following fixtures are not at the recommended height: the toilet seat (not at 48cm), the toilet roll holder (not between 80cm - 100cm), the wash basin (not between 72cm - 74cm), the soap dispenser (not between 80cm - 100cm) and towel dispenser (not between 80cm - 100cm).
  • The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
  • The following have a high colour contrast with their surroundings: the internal toilet door.
  • The following have a less clear colour contrast with their surroundings: all grab rails, both dropdown rails, the floor and the toilet seat.
  • There is no emergency alarm.
  • The toilet has a mirror which has been angled for ease of use.
  • There is no shelf in the toilet.
  • The cubicle has a waste bin without lid and a pedal bin.
  • There are no coat hooks.
