• About View
  • The Bloomsbury Theatre is a large building with 6 floors.
  • There are 3 main lifts and 3 main staircases within the building.
  • The main lift in the building accesses the lower ground, upper ground, floors 1, 2 and 3.
  • There is an alternative lift to the right of the building that goes to the lower ground, upper ground, Wilkins Terrace, floors 1, 2, 3 and 4. Floors 1, 2, 3 and 4 require a key card to access them.

Getting Inside

• The approach to the building is step-free via slight slopes.
• There are five entrances into the Bloomsbury Theatre.
• There is a main entrance off Gordon Street consists of a single automatic door accessed by a platform lift. There is also a set of manual double doors at this main entrance accessed by 11 steps.
• There are two alternative entrances at the front right of the building off Gordon Street. Both of which have step-free access by lift. One entrance has a single door and leads directly into the café. The other has a set of double manual doors.
• There is a set of double doors to the rear of the building leading into the lower ground floor.
• There is a set of double doors off the Wilkins Terrace leading to an area between the upper ground floor and floor 1 with step-free access to the rest of the Building being available via the Wilkins Terrace lift.
• The main entrance is signed as the Bloomsbury Theatre.
• The café entrance is signed as the Bloomsbury Café. There is no signage for the manual double doors leading into the building next to the café entrance.
• The rear entrance into the lower ground floor of the building is not signed.
• There is signage situated at the Wilkins Terrace entrance.
• The main entrance accesses the building near the box office reception on the upper ground floor. .
• The front right entrance of the building accesses the building near the café and the Wilkins Terrace Link lift on the upper ground floor.
• The café entrance accesses the café on the upper ground floor. .

Getting Around

• There is step-free level access throughout the majority of the building on all floors
• There is stepped access to reach some theatre seating, the Stalls Bar and the male standard toilets the Circle Theatre Seating.

• The Theatre Stalls seating is located to the rear of the upper ground floor.
• The Circle seating is located to the rear of the building on floor 1.
• There is a staircase between the Stalls seating and the dress circle seating at the rear left of the building.

• The Circle area of the Theatre can be accessed step-free via a platform lift on floor 1.
