Overview

Getting Inside

  • The approach to the building is step-free and level.
  • Gordon House has one entrance which is step-free via a ramp.
  • There are 4 well marked steps with handrails on both sides which are bypassed via the ramp.
  • This entrance has automatic doors.
  • The entrance is signed as Gordon House.
  • The entrance provides step-free level access to the reception foyer on the ground floor.

Getting Around

  • There is step-free level access throughout the ground floor.
  • There is stepped only access to the basement, first, second and third floors.
  • The door width leading to the corridor to the left on entrance is 75cm. The corridor leads to room G09 and the Undergraduate Common Room.
  • On the mezzanine between the ground and first floors, there are 6 well marked steps with handrails on both sides to access room 108.
  • Floor surfaces along all circulation routes are hard and smooth.
  • There are resting areas in the reception lobby area with a sofa.
  • Wall mounted wayfinding signage is provided throughout the building.
  • There are manual doors in some corridors and stairwells.

Stairs

  • The stairs surveyed are located directly ahead beyond the entrance doors.
