The building is medium sized with 4 floors. - There is a main lift and staircase within the building.

Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free and level.
There are some uneven surfaces on the approach. - The Ear Institute has four entrances.
The most accessible entrance is at the front of the building off Gray's Inn Road, with a push pad activated automatic door.
There are two side entrances off Britannia Street, and a rear entrance off Wicklow Street, all with manual doors. - The accessible entrance is signed UCL The Ear Institute Centre for Auditory Research.
The side entrances are signed as UCL Ear Institute.
The rear entrance is not signed. - The accessible entrance provides step-free access via slope to floor G.
- The side and rear entrances have stepped access.
There is only stepped access to the rest of the building via the side and rear entrances.
Getting Around
- There is step-free access to the main laboratory areas on all floors.
- On the floor G there are stairs for access to the atrium lounge, and also rooms G14 Student Common Room and G15 Office.
There is a stair lift here to overcome these stairs.
The key for the stair lift is available from security staff.
On the ground floor there is a narrow walkway and a slope with a steep gradient for access to room G35 PhD Office.
On the ground floor there is stepped access to the lecture theatre room G35. - On floor -1 there is a deep step at the threshold of the doorway for access to the atrium lounge, and rooms G14 Student Common Room and G15 Office.
On floor -1 there are steps for access to Clinical Skills Lab B36.
On floor -1 there are stairs for access to lecture theatre room G35, and also rooms G38 and G39.
On floor -1 there is a long slope with a slight gradient for access to the rear of the building, including rooms B34 - B37 Laboratories and B44 and B45 Laboratories, B36 Skills Lab, and the atrium lounge.
On floor -1 to the rear of the building there is a further long slope with a steep gradient for access to rooms B34 - B37 Laboratories, B36 Skills Lab, and the atrium lounge.
On floor -1 to the rear of the building there is further stepped access to B44 and B45 Laboratories.
On floor -1 there is stepped access to the female and male standard changing facilities. - On floor 1 there is a slope with a slight gradient for access to rooms 110 to 114.
- Floors along all circulation routes are hard and smooth, with some having a shiny finish.
- Wall mounted wayfinding signage is provided throughout the building.
- There are manual doors along circulation routes on the ground floor upwards.
Doors along circulation areas on floor -1 require a key card, or key pad code to access.
A key card is required to enter the stairwell on floor -1.
A key card is required to exit the stairwell on floors 1 and 2.
