About

- The Institute of Neurology is a large building with 13 floors.
- There are 4 main lifts and 2 main staircases in the building.
- The two main lifts access floors -1, ground, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9.
- There is another lift that accesses floors -1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 10 and 11.
- There is also a lift that accesses floors -1, ground, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11.
- The floors are signed as Basement, Ground, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11.
- There is internal step-free access via steep ramp between the Institute of Neurology and National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery.

Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free via slight slopes.
- There is one external entrance into the building
- This main entrance is accessed by either steps or a steep slope and has two sets of automatic doors.
- The main entrance is signed as Institute of Neurology.
- The main entrance has the reception located between the first and second entrance doors.
- The lifts are located after the second door of the main entrance.
- There are links into the building from the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery on the ground and fifth floors.
- The ground floor entrance has a steep ramp on approach with a handrail on the left of the ramp going up. The entrance consists of a set of double doors.
- The fifth floor entrance has two single doors followed by a set of five steps with a handrail on the right.
Getting Around
- There is step-free level access throughout the building on all floors.
- Floor surfaces along all circulation routes are hard and smooth, with some having a shiny finish.
- There are resting areas in some staff areas located off some circulation routes.
- Overhead and wall mounted wayfinding signage is provided throughout the building.
- There are manual doors in some corridor and lobby area.
