COVID-19 Information

  • The information in this section was taken in October 2020.
  • Opening times have currently been reduced to 08:45 - 18:15.
  • University Academy is providing free parking to all UA92 students, visitors and colleagues for the foreseeable future as part of the COVID-19 adaptations.
  • There is not currently an external queuing system.
  • Colleagues will now be using a different entrance to students to reduce footflow through the main entrance of the building.
  • Currently, everyone needs to enter the building via the automatic door on the right hand side as you face the venue. The door on the right is 'entrance only' and the door on the left is 'exit only' to ensure a one way system in and out is in place.
  • The two revolving doors are out of use as part of these adaptations to reduce the use of touch points.
  • Additional hand sanitising stations have been installed at entrances, exits, and throughout the campus. These are automatic hand sanitising stations to reduce the use of touch points.
  • There is clear signage inside to help with social distancing.
  • A one way system has been introduced throughout the building to assist with social distancing.
  • Markings have been added to the floors throughout campus indicating people should 'follow the flow' to assist with social distancing.
  • Signs have been put up on walls to remind people to stay 2m apart, wash hands often, not to share equipment and to cover coughs and sneezes.
  • Teaching rooms have been set out so that all seating is socially distanced. All additional seating has been removed to encourage social distancing.
  • Clear screens have been installed at the main helpdesk and at the campus coffee shop.
  • People are now asked to go up and down the stairs following a one way system.
  • Only two people are able to use each lift at any one time (there are 3 lifts available).
  • Urinals have been closed along with sinks that are next to each other to ensure social distancing.
  • Everyone is required to wear face coverings when in transit around the campus.
  • When visitors arrive they check in via the QR code at the helpdesk. The NHS track and trace QR code is located on the help desk.

      There are also vending machines available on the ground floor (photograph 8).
      There are lockers containing laptops available to borrow located to the side of the Student Experience Zone in the Atrium on the ground floor (photographs 9 and 10). The touch screen to access these lockers is 104 - 132 cm high. Photograph 11 shows the Event Space (Room 003) on the ground floor. There is a step 16 cm high to access the speakers area here. Photographs 12 -14 show the TV Studio, Radio Studio and Production Room respectively in the Media Studio (Room 012) on the ground floor. Photographs 15 and 16 show the Digital Lab (Room 002) on the ground floor. Photograph 17 shows a teaching room on the first floor. Photograph 18 shows the Boardroom (Room 118) on the first floor.

Lecture Theatre(s) (Auditorium)

  • Directional and locational signage for the lecture theatre(s) is available in upper and lower case lettering that is clearly visible.
