Getting To The Hospital (Southampton General Hospital)

  • By Road View
    • Southampton General Hospital is located on Tremona Road to the north west of the city.
      The postcode to use for the Sat-Nav is SO16 6YD.
      From the west of the city, Southampton General Hospital can be accessed via several routes from the M271.
      From the north of the city there are several routes from the M27. From the north east the A33 offers the best route towards the hospital.
    • There are 3 car parks on site which are used by Southampton General Hospital and Princess Anne Hospital.
      The car parks are called the Blue Car Park, the Orange Car Park and the Yellow Car Park.
      The Yellow Car Park is an underground car park located at the Princess Anne Hospital, but is used as an overflow car park for Southampton General.
      The Orange Car Park is to the front of the building facing the main hospital entrance.
      The Orange Car Park is on 2 levels with the lower level having the accessible parking Blue Badge bays.
      The upper level also contains the emergency helicopter landing pad.
      The Blue Car Park is to the rear of the hospital and has a large number of Blue Badge bays, but has a steep slope leading from the car park to the hospital entrances.
      The Yellow car park is an underground car park on Levels B and C of the Princess Anne Hospital with Blue Badge bays located on Level C.
      There are also 21 parent and child bays on Level C of the Yellow Car Park.
      Charges apply to all users of these car parks.
  • By Bus View
    • Several local bus routes serve the hospital sites. They are the Xelabus X11, Bluestar 7, Bluestar 17, City Red Three (First Bus), Unilink U6H.
      The bus stop is located on Tremona Road opposite the Main Hospital entrance.
    • There is not an onsite bus stop.
  • By Train View
    • The closest station is Southampton Central which is approximately 2.3 miles from the hospital. You can catch the Bluestar 17 and City Red Three buses from the station. Both continue to Southampton General Hospital and Princess Anne Hospital.

Getting To (Trauma Assessment Unit)
