About University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) is a teaching hospital providing community and hospital services across Morecambe Bay - an area covering a thousand square miles in south Cumbria and north Lancashire.  

We care for patients from three main hospitals; Furness General Hospital in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal, as well as from community healthcare facilities in Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. 

Our three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. Furness General Hospital and Royal Lancaster Infirmary have full Emergency Departments, while Westmorland General Hospital has an Urgent Treatment Centre that can help with non-life-threatening conditions.
