Introduction

  • Shackleton hall forms part of the Vale Village development of Student residences. The Village accommodates over 2700 mainly undergraduate students. Elgar Court consists of 40 six-bedroom en suite flats, arranged in 8 blocks which accommodate a total of 239 students.
  • Shackleton Hall offers 72 flats consisting 6 – 8 bedrooms, together with a small number of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom studios and apartments, accommodating a total of 350 students.

Location

  • Shackleton Hall is at the centre of the Vale Village and accommodates the hub, which offers facilities for all University of Birmingham students, (both residents of the Vale village and elsewhere). The hub comprises of Fusion (a dining and social space), Bar One, (main bar and nightclub), shops and a 24-hour cash machine.
  • The venue is approximately 1.5km, (20 minutes walk) from the centre of the University
  • Services/facilities within the building include staff offices, bedroom accommodation, a Costcutter convenience store, restaurant, bar and night club venue.
