• Exit Orlando Village Halls of Residence onto Foundry Street.
• Turn left and proceed to the roundabout.
• Turn left onto Thynne Street.
• Proceed along Thynne Street.
• There is a bus stop with tactile paving after approximately 30m (shown in photograph 4).
• After approximately 155m cross over a disused access route to the businesses on the left (shown in photograph 8).
• There are dropped kerbs at the crossing.
• After 23m cross Bridgeman Street.
• There is a designated crossing point with island (shown in photographs 9 and 10).
• There are dropped kerbs without tactile paving.
• The road is busy.
• Traffic comes from both directions.
• Continue along Thynne Street.
• The footpath becomes uneven with repairs creating potential trip hazards.
• After 60m cross the disused access road to the business on the left (shown in photograph 13).
• There are dropped kerbs with tactile paving.
• Continue along Thynne Street for 29m and bear left onto Crook Street.
• There is a road sign on the last 29m of this section of the route which reduces the clear width of the footpath, but the footpath is still over 150cm wide.

Crook Street to Bolton Shopping Centre

• Proceed along Crook Street.
• The surface of the footpath is tarmac.
• There are some potential trip hazards created by manhole covers.
• There are areas of tactile paving at the pedestrian entrances to Bolton Shopping Centre along this section of the route.
• There is a slight left to right downwards gradient along this section of the route.
• After 115m there are bollards across the footpath.
• The minimum width between the bollards is over 150cm.

• Bear slightly left and proceed along the front of the Bolton One Building.

• After approximately 38m the footpath narrows.
• Continue along the footpath for approximately 25m to the eastern side of the Senate House Quad.

• After entering the quad turn right onto the footpath running around the northern side of the quad.
• The surface of the footpath is block paved.
• The footpath is level.
• The footpath follows a curved route.
• After approximately 19m there is an easy uphill gradient.
• There is a handrail on the right hand side going up the gradient.
• Proceed along the footpath to the top of the gradient at the western edge of the quad.
• Senate House Main Entrance is on the right.

• After entering the quad proceed straight ahead to the centre of the quad.
• The surface of the footpath is block paved.
• The surface of the centre of the quad is concrete tiles.
• Proceed past the sculpture in the centre of the quad.
• There are 5 medium height steps without handrails.
• The steps are not clearly marked.
• There is not tactile paving at the top and bottom of the steps.
• Senate House Main Entrance is immediately ahead.
