Access To

  • Lecture Theatre 3 is located in the East wing of the Chemistry building, to the left of the Estates Assistants desk after you enter the building, via the main entrance.
  • View information on Chemistry (opens new tab).
  • View information on opening times.
  • The most accessible route has step-free level access, manual doors, doors permanently held open, shiny flooring and patterned flooring.
  • There is written text signage on or near the entrance.
  • There is step-free level access into Lecture Theatre 3.
  • There are double automatic doors which open towards you.
  • The push pad for the automatic doors is at a height of 93cm.
  • The width of the opening is 140cm.
  • The doors have a high visual contrast.

Teaching

  • There is a clearly signed fixed hearing assistance system.

  • Seating available in the room includes: chairs with armrests, chairs without armrests, lecture chairs and high stools.

  • The height of the speaker's desk/table is 95cm.

Designated Seating

  • The designated seating area surveyed is located via the right hand door into the lecture theatre, them to the left after you have entered the lecture theatre.
  • The distance from the lecture theatre entrance is 2m.
  • There is step-free level access to the designated seating.
  • The width of the opening is 113cm.
  • There are 2 designated spaces for wheelchair users.
  • The view from this seating area is clear from obstructions.
  • Companions sit next to you and behind you.
  • There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
  • Seating available in this area includes: chairs with armrests.
  • Some flooring is shiny.
  • Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
  • There is a toilet with adaptations close to the seating area (within approximately 50m).
