Introduction

Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • From the end of the M32 head towards the centre of the city on the A4044, signposted Clifton and Bristol Royal Infirmary. Take the second exit off the Bearpit roundabout, Marlborough Street, still heading towards the hospitals. Pass the hospitals on your right and keep straight ahead at the traffic lights. Continue along Park Row for 200m and turn right into Woodland Road. Follow Woodland Road for 500m and The Hawthorns is on your left at the junction with Elton Road.
    • There is permit parking to the front and side of The Hawthorns, some on-street parking for Resident Permit holders or on parking meters and there is a small visitor car park behind The Hawthorns, accessed by a steep ramp.
      Payment for parking in the visitor car park is made at reception (£7 per day or £3.50 per half day).
  • By Bus View
    • The university bus, number 16, stops immediately outside The Hawthorns and serves Clifton Down Station and the Stoke Bishop area in one direction and the university campus and the city centre in the other direction.
  • By Train View
    • The nearest main line station is at Clifton Down, approximately 1km away.
