Introduction
- Services / facilities within the building include rooms with ensuite based on medical need, rooms with shared bathrooms (showers and toilets), shared kitchen, common rooms.
- Services / facilities within the grounds include botanical gardens.
- The main entrance to the building is a stepped entrance with the other entrance to the front locked (slight slope on approach but level access). There is rear access to the gardens, various level changes (stepped) within the building as well as staircases to other floors. The reception for the Holmes is across the street in Churchill House.
- The parking for the building is in Churchill House which is across a road from the accommodation. This has 2 Blue Badge bays. The parking opposite the accommodation is for the botanical gardens. The laundrette is within Churchill Hall with none in The Holmes.

- From the main university buildings and the city centre follow the A4018 along Whiteladies Road towards Westbury on Trym.
At the top of the hill head across The Downs open space on Stoke Road, through the traffic lights and take the second turning on the right. Stoke Park Road is signposted for the Botanical Garden.
Churchill Hall (parking for The Holmes) is approximately 250m down the road on the left. The Holmes can also be reached via Hollybush Lane however there is no access parking from this side. Badock Hall and Wills Hall are both other residences which are very close/ nearby. - Parking is outside Churchill House which is located off Stoke Park Road, directly opposite to the Holmes and the botanical gardens.

- University buses serve the main university buildings and arrive at the Transport Hub which is on the Hiatt Baker Hall campus.

- The first floor showers have 21cm steps. They are in the shared toilet/ shower rooms (photographs 3-5). They are accessed via 4 steps on the first floor corridor.
- The second floor has a shared shower and toilet facilities. There are 2 stepped showers in separated rooms and 2 separate toilet cubicles (Photographs 6 & 7). The step is of a similar height.
Botanical Gardens
- The gardens are around the edge of the building. There is a Welcome Lodge for check in. The garden is for visitors and not just for accommodation students specifically.
Common Rooms
- The Bradley Room has doors through into the Devers Room. The room has shiny, wood flooring and at time of survey had no furniture (photographs 1-3).
- The Eisenhower Room has a table that is 75cm high and various chairs with no armrests. There is a piano and a rug which could be a trip hazard (photographs 4-6).
- The Rickard Room has an unused carpeted common room/ bedroom (photographs 7-11).
- The Devers Room is locked from the accommodation block. It has the café for Botanical Gardens visitors (photograph 12).
