Access To
- The Herbarium Library is located on the basement floor towards the rear of the Department of Plant Sciences (Sainsbury Laboratory) building.
- The library is accessed by the rear lift of the Sainsbury Laboratory and cannot be accessed via the other lifts.

- The most accessible route has a lift, a very easy ramp or slope and shiny flooring.
- There is no signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access into the Herbarium Library.
- There is a single manual door which opens towards you.
- The width of the opening is 94cm.
- The door has a low visual contrast.
- There is a push pad or push button to exit at a height of 112cm.
- There is a key card reader to access the library at a height of 100cm.
Library
- There is step-free level access throughout the library.
- Access throughout the library may include narrow walkways.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest in the seating area.
- The flooring is shiny.
- The walls and floor have a high visual contrast.
- Seating available in the library includes: chairs with armrests, chairs without armrests and riser recliner chairs.
- Furniture available in the library includes: tables and desks.
- Some tables are fixed.
- Some surface heights are suitable for wheelchair users.
- The clear underside space of the surfaces is not suitable for wheelchair users.
- Lighting levels vary due to the size of the space.
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- Auxiliary aids available in this library include: ergonomic chairs.
