Overview

The approach to the building is step-free access with a very easy slope.
Faculty of Education (Trumpington House) has one entrance with a manual door. The entrance provides stepped access to the ground floor.
The entrance is signed as Trumpington House - Kavli Centre for Ethics, Science and the Public.
The entrance provides stepped access to the ground floor.

- The shared toilet facilities are located on the ground floor and first floor.
Washroom and Shower Facilities View
- Standard shower facilities are located within the shared toilet on the first floor.

Car Park View
- The car park is located off Hills Road.
- The car park is open air/surface.
- The car park surface consists of tarmac.
- There is 1 designated Blue Badge parking bay available.
- The Blue Badge bay is clearly marked.
- The surveyed Blue Badge parking bay dimensions are 242cm (width) x 533cm (depth).
- There is a marked zone to one side but not at the rear.
- The width of the marked zone is 120cm.
- The nearest designated bay is 6m from the entrance.
- The most accessible route from the Blue Badge parking has step-free level access.
- There is no dropped kerb from the designated Blue Badge parking.

- As parking is limited, a booking needs to be made in advance.

This entrance is located at the front of the building.
The entrance area is clearly signed.
There is not a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.

There are 5 steps with a handrail on the left going up.
The handrail is easy to grip.
The handrail does not cover the flight of stairs throughout its length.
The handrail does not extend horizontally beyond the first and last step.
The steps are unmarked.
The height of the steps is between 15cm and 18cm.
The height of the highest step is 17cm.
The depth of the steps is between 30cm and 45cm.
There is a single manual door at this entrance.
The door is permanently held open.

The door has a high visual contrast.
The height of the card reader in between the two sets of doors is 135cm.

The second door opens away from you.

The stairs surveyed are located in the centre of the building.
The basement, ground and floor 1 can be accessed by these stairs.

The steps have low colour contrast markings and have a handrail on the right going up.
The handrail is not easy to grip.
The handrail covers the flight of stairs throughout its length.
The handrail extends horizontally beyond the first and last step.
