Overview

Getting Inside

  • The approach to the building is step-free level, through the Reception Lobby of the Judge Business School.
  • The Judge Business School (Simon Sainsbury Centre) has two entrances. Both provide step-free level access to the Ground Floor. There are double, manual, permanently held open doors (with one leaf locked) at the Main Entrance - From Judge Business School Lobby. There is a single, manual door (with an open extension leaf) at the Entrance - From Rear of Judge Business School - Next to Fadi Boustany Lecture Theatre.
  • The entrances are not signed.
  • The Main Entrance - From Judge Business School Lobby provides step-free level access to the Reception Lobby on the Ground Floor.
  • The Entrance - From Rear of Judge Business School - Next to Fadi Boustany Lecture Theatre provides step-free level access to the Reception Lobby on the Ground Floor.

Getting Around

  • There is step-free level access throughout the building on all floors.
  • The flooring is tiled on the ground floor and carpeted on the second, third and fourth floors. There is concrete and wooden flooring on the stairs (rear of Simon Sainsbury Centre). The tiled, concrete and wooden flooring is hard and smooth, with the tiles having a shiny finish. The carpet is all low pile.
  • There are resting areas in some circulation and lobby areas with a mixture of seating.
  • Floor and wall mounted wayfinding signage is provided throughout the building.
  • There are not manual doors in any circulation corridors, only to access stairwells.

    • There are 3 toilets with adaptations.
    • Toilets with adaptations are located on the ground floor and second floor.
    • The transfer space varies between left and right in the toilets with adaptations.
    • Ambulant toilet facilities are located within the standard male and female toilets on the ground floor and second floor.
    • The male and female toilet facilities are located at the far end of the corridor to the rear left of the ground floor.
    • The male toilet facilities are located at the far end of the corridor to the rear left of the second floor.
    • The female toilet facilities are located in the centre of the second floor, at the top of the reception lobby stairs, opposite the Sinyi Seminar Room.

Entrance (Main Entrance - From Judge Business School Lobby)

  • This entrance is located on the left hand side as you enter the Judge Business School main reception lobby.

Entrance (From Rear of Judge Business School - Next to Fadi Boustany Lecture Theatre)

  • This entrance is located straight ahead, along the corridor and to the left as you enter through the Judge Business School Main Entrance, next to the Fadi Boustany Lecture Theatre.
  • The entrance area is not clearly signed.
  • There is a key fob/card reader at a height of 79cm.
  • The key card reader is only for out of hours access.
  • There are double manual doors at this entrance.
  • The doors open towards you.
  • The width of the opening is 145cm.
  • The doors have a low visual contrast.
  • There is a push pad or push button to exit at a height of 79cm.
  • The push pad is only required to exit outside of normal hours.
  • There is step-free level access as you enter.

Reception (Simon Sainsbury Centre)

  • The reception is located diagonally to the left, as you enter through the main entrance from the Judge Business School Lobby.
  • The distance from the main entrance, from the Judge Business School Lobby is 9m.
  • There is step-free level access to reception.
  • The height of the reception desk is 111cm.
  • There is a lowered section at the desk.
