Access Guide
Access To
- Lecture Room 4 is located on the second floor of the Lecture Block.
- Level access is available into the room but only by passing through Lecture Room 6 or Lecture Room 5.
There are two entrances from Lecture Room 5 that lead directly into Lecture Room 4, both are unmarked.
One is in the lower speaker's area and has level access the other is in the speaker's area and has stepped access. - View information on Lecture Block (opens new tab) .
- The most accessible route has step-free level access, a lift, manual doors and shiny flooring.
- There is Braille, tactile, written text and numbered signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access into Lecture Room 4.
- There are double manual doors which open towards you.
- The width of the opening is 136cm.
- The doors have a high visual contrast.
Teaching
- This is a lecture room.
- There is step-free level access throughout the room.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- The flooring is shiny.
- Floor coverings are not even and could potentially cause a trip hazard.
- The walls and floor have a high colour contrast.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
- There is a designated space for a wheelchair user.
- The designated space for a wheelchair user is located at the front of the lecture theatre.

- Seating available in the room includes: chairs without armrests and benches.

- All tables and some chairs are fixed.
