Parking (University Centre)

Getting Inside

  • The approach to the building is step-free level, or via steep ramps on the pavement up from Granta Place.
  • The University Centre has 2 entrances. Both entrances provide step-free level access to the ground floor, and have double automatic doors.
  • The entrances are unsigned.
  • The accessible entrance provides step-free level access to reception on the ground floor.
  • The main entrance also provides step-free level access to reception on the ground floor.

Getting Around

  • There is step-free access throughout the vast majority of the building on all floors, via the main lift.
  • On the ground floor, there are 5, 16cm-high, unmarked steps, with handrails on both sides and open risers, to access the reception seating area. These have a tread depth between 30cm and 45cm.
    There is a also steep ramp with handrails on both sides to access Granta Lounge.
    From the top of this ramp, there is an additional steep ramp with handrails on both sides to access all remaining facilities on the ground floor.
  • There are 4 unmarked steps, 16cm high and 30-45cm deep, to access the main dining hall on the second floor. These do not have handrails. They are bypassed by a steep ramp with no handrails.
  • Floor surfaces along all circulation routes consist of low-pile carpet, with the exception of the main stairs, which have a shiny concrete finish.
  • There are resting areas in some circulation and lobby areas with a mixture of seating.
  • Overhead and wall-mounted wayfinding signage is provided throughout the building.
  • There are some manual doors along circulation corridors, but all are permanently held open.

Toilet and Changing Facilities

Reception

  • The reception is located to the right and then diagonally to the left as you enter the building through the accessible entrance.
