Access To
- The Bristol Myers Squibb Lecture Theatre is located on the ground floor of the Department of Chemistry (Chemistry Building), ahead and to the left as you enter through the accessible entrance on the east side of the building.

- The most accessible route has a steep ramp or slope, manual doors, shiny flooring and patterned flooring.
- There is written text signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free access via ramp into the lecture theatre.
- The ramp has a steep gradient with resting areas.
- The ramp is between 75cm and 150cm wide with handrails on both sides.
- There are double manual doors which open towards you.
- One of the doors was locked at the time of the survey.
- The width of the opening is 74cm.
- The doors have a high visual contrast.
- There are 2 additional step-free level access doors to the speaker's area, which are on the basement floor. They are both double-width, manual doors, with one door locked. The minimum width of the doors is 64cm. There is high colour contrast between the door and the walls.
Teaching
- This is a lecture theatre.
- There is step-free level access to the speaker’s area and front row only.
- The following areas have stepped access: all seating beyond the front 3 rows.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- The flooring is shiny.
- Floor coverings are even with no trip hazards.
- The walls and floor visual contrast varies between low and high.
- Lighting levels vary due to the size of the space.
- Lighting levels are adjustable.
- There is tiered seating with no handrails at the steps.
- There are no designated spaces for wheelchair users.
