Access To
- Lecture Theatre 2 is located on the Ground Floor of the Inglis Building, ahead and on the right upon entering the building.
- View information on Department of Engineering (Inglis and Inglis A Building) (opens new tab) .
- The most accessible route has step-free level access and manual doors.
- There is written text signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access into the lecture theatre.
- There is a single manual door which opens towards you.
- The door has a locked extension leaf.
- The width of the opening is 87cm.
- The door has a high visual contrast.
- The 2nd door at the front of the lecture theatre is single width with a locked extension leaf and provides step-free level access into the left side of the lecture theatre. There is a small raised threshold on this door and some uneven surfaces. This door has a minimum width of 88cm. There is a 2nd set of doors after this door that is identical to the first.
Entrance (Front Left of Lecture Theatre)
- This entrance is located immediately on the right as you enter the Inglis Building.
- The entrance area is clearly signed.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There are double manual doors at this entrance, however one door is locked.
- The doors open towards you.
- The width of the opening is 88cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the opening.
- The doors have a high visual contrast.
- There is a second set of double manual doors, however one door is locked.
- The second set of doors open towards you.
- The width of the opening is 88cm.
- The second set of doors have a high visual contrast.
- There is step-free level access as you enter.
Entrance (Rear Entrance)
- This entrance is located on the corridor to the right as you enter the Inglis Building.
- The entrance area is clearly signed.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There are double manual doors at this entrance, however one door is locked.
- The doors open towards you.
- The width of the opening is 63cm.
- The doors have a high visual contrast.
- There is stepped access as you enter.
- There are 13 steps with a handrail on the left going up.
- The handrail is easy to grip.
- The handrail covers the flight of stairs throughout its length.
- The handrail does not extend horizontally beyond the first and last step.
- The steps are clearly marked.
- The height of the steps is between 15cm and 18cm.
- The height of the highest step is 16cm.
- The depth of the steps is not between 30cm and 45cm.
Teaching
- This is a lecture theatre.
- There is step-free level access throughout the majority of areas.
- The following areas have stepped access: seating past the front 4 rows.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
