Access To
- Pilkington Lecture Theatre PK008 is located on the ground floor of the Pilkington Building, on the left hand side of the main atrium opposite the end of the café as you enter the building through the North Road entrance.

- The most accessible route has step-free level access and shiny flooring.
- There is written text and numbered signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access to enter the Pilkington Lecture Theatre PK008.
- There is a single automatic door which opens towards you.
- The push pad for the automatic doors is at a height of 74cm.
- The width of the opening is 99cm.
- The door has a low visual contrast.
- There is a push pad or push button to exit at a height of 97cm.
- There are a second set of double automatic doors which open towards you.
- The push pad for the automatic doors is at a height of 97cm.
- The width of the opening is 134cm.
- The second set of doors have a medium visual contrast.
- There is a push pad or push button to exit at a height of 89cm.
- There is an additional entrance to the lecture theatre located at the far end of the atrium on the left as you enter the building through the North Road entrance, or immediately to the right as you pass through the second set of doors at the campus side entrance. This entrance leads up to the back row of seating.

There is a set of double manual doors with a low colour contrast, which open towards you (pull) to a width of 140cm, followed by a single medium-height step with no handrails and a low contrast marking. This is followed by a single manual door with a low colour contrast, which opens towards you (pull) to a width of 88cm. This in turn is followed by 11 medium-height steps with low contrast markings, and a partial handrail on the left going up.
- There is a separate external door which can be used as an exit from the lecture theatre, leading out into the Drill Hall Building car park. There are double manual doors at this exit, with a medium colour contrast and an opening width of 158cm. There is then a slight ramp leading down to the right from the doors, with handrails on both sides.
Teaching
- This is a lecture theatre.
- There is step-free level access to the speaker’s area and front row only.
- The following areas have stepped access: all rows of seating except for the front row.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- The flooring is patterned.
- Floor coverings are even with no trip hazards.
- The walls and floor visual contrast varies between low and high.
