- The Student Hub is a medium-sized building with 2 floors.

Parking and Public Transport
View
- There is a campus car park, with Blue Badge parking available.
- There is a drop-off point.
- The nearest train station is Gillingham.

Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free (via very slight slopes).
- From the upper campus, you will need to descend to the lower campus using the lift or stairs down to the former parade ground, and then cross it to reach the building.
- The Student Hub has one entrance, which provides step-free access to the ground floor of the building (via a very slight ramp).
- There are two sets of double automatic doors at the entrance; the first of which is permanently held open.
- The entrance is signed as "The Hub", as well as "The Deep End".
- The entrance provides step-free access to the reception on the ground floor of the building (via a very slight ramp).
Getting Around
- There is step-free level access throughout the building on all floors, and to the rear of the building on the first floor (housing the Event Space), via lift.
- Access to the Student Advice Centre at the front of the building on the first floor is via stairs only - this part of the first floor cannot be accessed from the lift.
- Floor surfaces along circulation routes consist of shiny vinyl, laminate and tiled areas, plus low pile carpet in the Student Advice Centre.
- There are resting areas in some circulation and lobby areas, with a mixture of seating.
- Wall-mounted wayfinding signage is provided intermittently throughout the building.
- There are not manual doors in any circulation areas; only to access the lift lobby/stairwells on the first floor.
- All other doors in circulation areas are either automatic or permanently held open.

Toilet Facilities

- There is 1 toilet with adaptations.
- The toilet with adaptations is located straight ahead and to the right, then through the doors and on the left as you enter the building.
- The toilet with adaptations has a left hand transfer space.
- The male and female step-free standard toilet facilities are located straight ahead and to the right, then through the doors and on the left as you enter the building, next to the toilet with adaptations; and on the first floor at the rear of the building, to the right and through the doors as you enter the Event Space.
- The gender inclusive standard toilet facilities are located on the first floor at the front of the building, to the right at the top of the stairs, next to the Student Advice Centre.

Car Park
View
- The car park is located at the front of the Drill Hall Building, accessed from North Road.
- The car park is open air/surface.
- The car park surface consists of tarmac and loose chippings.
- There are 6 designated Blue Badge parking bays available.
- The Blue Badge bays are clearly marked and signposted.
- The surveyed Blue Badge parking bay dimensions are 248cm (width) x 495cm (depth).
- There is a marked zone to both sides and rear.

- The nearest designated bay is 99m from the building entrance.
- The most accessible route from the Blue Badge parking has a very easy ramp or slope and bollards.

Charges and Restrictions

- This car park is for staff, students, visitors, Blue Badge holders, permit holders, staff permit holders and student permit holders only.
- Parking is not free for all users.
- Parking is free for Blue Badge holders.
- Clearly presented parking signs are available.
- Payment machines are located on the upper level of the campus - outside the security gatehouse; and in the Pembroke Building, opposite the Pembroke Cafe.
- There is a payment machine with controls at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- There is a level manoeuvring space for a wheelchair user in front of the payment machine (minimum 185cm x 210cm).

Drop-off Point

- The ground floor and first floor (0 and 1) are accessed by this lift.
- The lift door has a high visual contrast.
- The lift has a level manoeuvring space in front of it for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- The weight limit for the lift is 400kg.
- The external lift control buttons have tactile markings and a medium visual contrast.
- All of the external lift controls are at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The lift door opening width is 88cm.

Stairs (Rear Stairs - Event Space)
- The stairs surveyed are located to the rear of the building, through the door between Poolside Coffee and The Deep End Bar, and diagonally to the right.
- The ground floor and first floor can be accessed by these stairs.
- There are 17 steps between floors.
- The steps are clearly marked and have handrails on both sides.
- The handrails are easy to grip.
- The handrails cover the flight of stairs throughout its length.
- The handrails do not extend horizontally beyond the first and last step.
- The height of the steps is between 15cm and 18cm.
- The height of the highest step is 17cm.
- The depth of the steps is not between 30cm and 45cm.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
Stairs (Front Stairs - Student Advice Centre)
- The stairs surveyed are located straight ahead and to the right, then through the doors and on the right as you enter the building.
- The ground floor and first floor can be accessed by these stairs.
- There are 20+ steps between floors.
- The steps are clearly marked and have handrails on both sides.
- The handrails are easy to grip.
- The handrails cover the flight of stairs throughout its length.
- The handrails extend horizontally beyond the first and last step.
- The height of the steps is between 15cm and 18cm.
- The height of the highest step is 17cm.
- The depth of the steps is not between 30cm and 45cm.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
- These stairs are used to access the Student Advice Centre only. There is no access through to the event space from them - please use the rear stairs or the lift to reach this.
