COVID-19 Information

  • The information in this section was taken in December 2020.
  • Opening times may be subject to change due to restrictions, please see local communications for more details.
  • Access routes have been risk assessed and reviewed in all buildings.
  • In high footfall areas e.g. Library, Food retail, Sports Centre, Student Hub etc staff have been positioned to manage entry and provide relevant COVID guidance.
  • Hand sanitisers are located at all building entrances, toilets, breakout areas and food retail areas. Extra provision has been made in specific specialist areas.
  • There has been a reduction in the number of users buildings can accommodate at any one time.
  • COVID-19 signage has been installed throughout.
  • All main reception desks & service counters now have a protective screen.
  • Toilets are available.
  • All accessible toilets and Changing Places are still available.
  • Some urinals and cubicles in standard toilets have closed to assist with social distancing.

Introduction

Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • The University Campus is located to the North of the city centre. There are three entrances to the campus, two off Cottingham Road to the South of the campus, and one off Inglemire Lane to the North. Both of these roads are accessed off Beverley Road (A1079) which leads North from the city centre.
    • Permit parking is available throughout the campus, and there is a pay and display car park located next to the Wilberforce Car Park, on the Eastern side of the campus.
  • By Bus View
    • Bus routes 103 and 105 stop on Cottingham Road, to the South of the campus. U5, 9A and Simplibus 9 stop on Inglemire Lane to the North. 9A, 115, Simplibus 5 and Simplibus 9 stop on Cranbrook Avenue to the East.
  • By Train View
    • Hull Paragon Station is located in the city centre, just over 2 miles from the campus. Bus routes 103 and 105 can be used to reach the campus for Hull Paragon Interchange.

Building Parking

  • The building does not have its own dedicated parking.
  • Site/Campus Car Parks View
    • There is a site/campus car park for staff and students within approximately 200m.
    • The name of the car park is West Car Park.
    • The car park is located on the access road leading into the campus from the West Entrance on Cottingham Road.
  • Public Car Parks View
    • There is not a car park for public use within 200m (approx).
  • On Street Parking View
    • Clearly signed and/or standard marked parking bays are not available.
  • Drop Off Point View
    • There is not a designated drop off point.
  • Comments View
    • Car parking in the West Car Park is a mixture of B permit and R permit.
    • Blue Badge holders must display their Blue Badge or a valid university AX/X permit.

Getting Around

  • Access View
    • There is step free access throughout the building via lift(s).
    • There is a steep slope, with no handrails, for access to the far left hand corridor on the ground floor, and room 008.
    • The width of the ramp is 121cm (3ft 12in).
    • This level change is shown in photographs 9 and 10.
    • There are doors in corridors which have to be opened manually.
  • Getting Around View
    • There is clear signage for building facilities/areas in the foyer/reception area.
    • There is clearly written directional signage at key points of circulation routes.

    • The floors which are accessible by stairs are G, 1 and 2.
    • The stairs are located ahead as you enter via the right entrance.

    • There are manual, heavy, double doors to access the stairwell from the first floor upwards.

  • Accessible toilet facilities are located to the centre of the building on all floors. The emergency alarm cord in the accessible toilet on the ground floor is not in reach. The emergency alarm cord in the accessible toilets on the first and second floors are in reach.
  • Female and male standard toilet facilities are located to the centre of the building on all floors.

    • This accessible toilet is located on the ground floor, along the corridor to the left as you enter via the right entrance.
