COVID-19 Information

  • The information in this section was taken in December 2020.
  • Opening times may be subject to change due to restrictions, please see local communications for more details.
  • Access routes have been risk assessed and reviewed in all buildings.
  • In high footfall areas e.g. Library, Food retail, Sports Centre, Student Hub etc staff have been positioned to manage entry and provide relevant COVID guidance.
  • Hand sanitisers are located at all building entrances, toilets, breakout areas and food retail areas. Extra provision has been made in specific specialist areas.
  • There has been a reduction in the number of users buildings can accommodate at any one time.
  • COVID-19 signage has been installed throughout.
  • All main reception desks & service counters now have a protective screen.
  • Toilets are available.
  • All accessible toilets and Changing Places are still available.
  • Some urinals and cubicles in standard toilets have closed to assist with social distancing.

Introduction

  • Services / facilities within the building include the Department of Engineering and Computer Science, teaching rooms, laboratories, workshops, Lecture Theatres A, B, C, and D, and staff offices.

Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • The University Campus is located to the North of the city centre. There are three entrances to the campus, two off Cottingham Road to the South of the campus, and one off Inglemire Lane to the North. Both of these roads are accessed off Beverley Road (A1079) which leads North from the city centre.
    • Permit parking is available throughout the campus, and there is a pay and display car park located next to the Wilberforce Car Park, on the Eastern side of the campus.
  • By Bus View
    • Bus routes 103 and 105 stop on Cottingham Road, to the South of the campus. U5, 9A and Simplibus 9 stop on Inglemire Lane to the North. 9A, 115, Simplibus 5 and Simplibus 9 stop on Cranbrook Avenue to the East.
  • By Train View
    • Hull Paragon Station is located in the city centre, just over 2 miles from the campus. Bus routes 103 and 105 can be used to reach the campus for Hull Paragon Interchange.

Building Parking

  • The building does not have its own dedicated parking.
  • Site/Campus Car Parks View
    • There is a site/campus car park for staff, students and visitors within approximately 200m.
    • The name of the car park is Temporary Car Park.
    • The car park is located on the north side of the campus between the Sports and Fitness Centre and Applied Sciences building.
  • Public Car Parks View
    • There is not a car park for public use within 200m (approx).
  • On Street Parking View
    • Clearly signed and/or standard marked parking bays are not available.

  • Comments View
    • Parking is available in the area between the Canham Turner, Applied Sciences, Fenner, and Robert Blackburn buildings. Parking within this area is restricted to R permit holders and Blue Badge holders only.
    • There are also 2 Blue Badge bays at the rear of the Applied Sciences building which can be used for access to this building (shown in photographs 3 - 5).
    • Blue Badge holders must display their Blue Badge or a valid university AX/X permit.
