Introduction

  • Comments View
    • The reception for Student Support and Wellbeing is located on the ground floor of Keynes College, in H block.
    • The service provides, assessment, support, training and mentoring.
    • These sessions may take place in other rooms in Keynes block, or elsewhere on campus such as in Eliot College.

Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • The service is in the south of the Canterbury Campus, within Keynes College.
      This is about 1 mile north of Canterbury City Centre.
      The building is located off University Road, which connects to the A290 Whitstable Road.
    • There is parking at the front of the Keynes College building.
      A University Pink Parking Permit, Accessible Parking Permit or Blue Badge is required to park in any bay in the car park.

  • By Bus View
    • There are frequent Unibus services linking the University campus with the centre of Canterbury and Canterbury East and West train stations.
      The nearest bus stops are on University Road or Giles Lane.
  • By Train View
    • The nearest train station is Canterbury West, to the north of the city centre.
      This is on the line from London to Kent, including Ashford International.
      There is step-free access into the station building.
      There is step-free access to both platforms by lift.
      Staff are available to assist with portable ramps between the platform and the train.
      There are buses linking the city centre with the University campus, with stops about 5 minute's walk from the station.

Route to Student Support from Keynes Main Entrance

  • Keynes College main entrance has level access with an automatic door operated by push pad (photograph 1).
  • From the entrance, turn right into the foyer towards the college reception.
  • There are accessible and standard toilets off the foyer, opposite the main entrance.
  • There is a slight uphill slope in the entrance foyer (2).
  • At the top of the slope, go through the doors (held open) and turn right (3).
  • Go past the lift on the left and turn left (4).
  • Continue along the corridor, passing the Dolche Vita restaurant on the left and K Bar on the right (photographs 5 - 8).
  • There are standard male and female toilets in this area which have accessible cubicles within them.
  • At the end of the corridor, turn left through the entrance into H Block courtyard.
  • There are automatic outward opening doors and a slight ramp down as you go through this access (9, 10).
  • The entrance to Student Support reception is to the right of the courtyard (11).
  • The other Student Support rooms in this area are from the covered walkway to the right of the reception entrance (12).
  • Students attending for the first time will be collected from the reception waiting area.
