Access To
- PH.204 is on the second floor at the front of the Parkstead House building, along the access corridor, between Stair D and Stair E.
- View information on Parkstead House (opens new tab).
- The most accessible route has a lift, a slight ramp or slope, manual doors and automatic doors.
- The distance from the Stair D lift is 40m.
- There is numbered signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access into PH.204 Computer Lab.
- There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
- The width of the opening is 86cm.
- The door has a low visual contrast.
- There is a similar entrance into the room further along the corridor towards Stair E.
Teaching
- This is a computer room.
- There is step-free level access throughout the room.
- Furniture cannot be moved to enable a manoeuvring space for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- Floor coverings are even with no trip hazards.
- The walls and floor have a high visual contrast.
- Lighting levels were uneven at the time of the survey, with pools of light and shade.
- Lighting levels are adjustable.
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
- Seating available in the room includes: chairs with armrests and chairs without armrests.
- Furniture available in the room includes: tables.
- Some tables are fixed.
- The surface heights are suitable for wheelchair users.
- The clear underside space of the surfaces is not suitable for wheelchair users.
