Introduction
- Services / facilities within the building include the School of Biology Scottish Oceans Institute, Sea Mammal research unit, aquarium, Sediment Ecology Research Group (SERG), laboratories, teaching and research laboratories, teaching rooms, meeting rooms, study areas and offices.
Location of Toilet/Changing Facilities
- Accessible toilet facilities are located on the ground floor in the reception and on the first floor front building gallery.
- Female and male standard toilet facilities are located on the ground floor in the reception and in the rear building on the lower ground, ground, first and second floors.
- Shared standard toilet facilities are located on the first floor front building gallery .
- Shared standard toilet facilities are located on the ground and first floors, in the main lift / stairwell (ambulant cubicles).

Getting Here

By Road

- The Scottish Oceans Institute is located southeast of the town centre overlooking East Sands beach.
Take the A917 Abbey Walk south from the town centre, off the A918 South Street. After 650m turn left on to Woodburn Place. Continue to the end of the street to the Woodburn Place car park overlooking the beach. The Scottish Oceans Institute is at the far end of the car park. - There is Blue Badge parking to the side of the building. There are further Blue Badge bays and standard free parking in the Woodburn Place car park.

- The nearest bus stops are on the A917, the Shore bus stop or Albany Park stop, served by local and regional buses.
Bus routes 95, 99A and CG1 link from the town centre southbound. Other bus routes link northbound to the town centre and beyond to Dundee, including 9, 9B, 95, 97A, 98, 99B, 99C, MD1-4, MD6-8, MD10-15, MD18 and SH2.
