Priestman Building to Underpass

  • There is directional signage on the left.
  • There are lamp posts on the left and right side along the length of the path.

  • After 42 metres there is an open access point to exit the path and join Chester Road.
  • The access point is 360 centimetres wide and has block paving which slopes slightly down to the right.
  • After going through the access point continue straight ahead towards Chester Road crossing.
  • There is an easy slope upwards from the access point to the crossing.

Chester Road Crossing

  • This section of the route is 6 metres in length.
  • The crossing at Chester Road is a puffin crossing.
  • There are three lanes of traffic.
  • Two lanes of traffic come from the left and one lane of traffic comes from the right.
  • The crossing has audible and visible indicators.
  • There are buttons for the crossing on the left and right.
  • The height of the push buttons is 112 centimetres.

Chester Road Crossing to CityScape

  • With the crossing on the left, take the path on the right along the side of the CityScape building.
  • There is an electrical services box on the right just before the turning.

Chester Road Crossing to Pedestrian Campus Walkway

  • This section of the route is approximately 63 metres in length.
  • After crossing Chester Road continue straight ahead.
  • The CityScape building is on the left.
  • There is an easy upwards slope.
  • There is a university map and signage on the right.
  • The surface is tarmac with block paving on the left and right sides of the pathway.
  • There is a planter 3 metres from the start of the slope with an identification strip.
  • There are steps leading up to the CityScape building on the left.
  • The slope levels out in front of the CityScape building steps.
  • The Gateway and Edinburgh Buildings are on the right.
  • The easy slope then continues upwards past the Edinburgh Building on the right.
  • 11 metres further along the path there are two planters.
  • The distance between the planters is 135 centimetres.
  • Continue ahead to the pedestrian walkway.
  • There are lamp posts on the right.
  • There are planters and bench seating on the left.
  • There is a path on the left leading to the University Travel Hub bus stop.
  • Buses from here go between the Sir Tom Cowie Campus at St Peter's and the City Campus.
  • The surface is tarmac interspersed with block paving.
  • There is directional signage on the left at the pedestrian campus walkway.

Pedestrian Campus Walkway to Clanny Street

  • This section is 48 metres in length.
  • At the pedestrian campus walkway turn right.
  • Continue straight ahead along the campus walkway.
  • The surface is concrete tiles.
  • There is a slight slope downwards.
  • There are lamp posts on either side of the walkway.
  • At the end of the path there are two bollards.
  • The path slopes downwards towards the bollards and it is an easy slope.
  • The bollards are 91 centimetres high and do not have a visual identification strip.

Clanny Street to Rainbow Crossing

  • This section of the route is 40 metres in length.
  • Immediately beyond the bollards turn left onto Clanny Street.
  • There is an easy upwards slope along the path.

  • There is a designated smoking shelter and litter bin on the left.
  • There is bench seating on the right, 5 metres along the path.
  • After 12 metres follow the path round to the left.
  • After a further 8 metres turn right and follow the path al ong the right side of the car park.
  • The Sciences Complex is on the left.
  • The surface changes from tarmac to concrete paving slabs.
  • Continue ahead for 15 metres.
  • The path is 180 centimetres wide.
  • At the end of the path there is a dropped kerb on the right for delivery vehicles.
  • Go past the dropped kerb and then turn right towards the rainbow crossing.
  • There is a university campus map on the left.

Rainbow Crossing

  • This section of the route is 5 metres in length.
  • The crossing is a rainbow crossing.
  • The crossing goes across Clanny Street to the car park.
  • The traffic comes from the left and right.
  • There are dropped kerbs and tactile paving at both sides of the crossing.
  • There is no audible or visual indicators at this crossing.

Rainbow Crossing to Waterworks Road

  • This section of the route is 45 metres in length.
  • This section of the route crosses the university car park.
  • After crossing the rainbow crossing turn left.
  • There are four crossing points that need to be traversed to go through the car park.
  • At each crossing section there are dropped kerbs and tactile markings.
  • Traffic comes from the left and right.
  • Continue across all four crossings until you reach the end of the car park.
  • The surface is tarmac and level.
  • There are parking information signs on the right on each crossing section.
  • At the end of the car park there is a lamp post in the middle of the path.
  • There is the university campus sign on the right.

Waterworks Road to Waterworks Road Crossing

  • At the end of the car park turn right onto Waterworks Road.
  • Follow the path downwards for 17 metres.
  • The slope is an easy downward slope.
  • The surface is tarmac.
  • There is a lamp post on the left.
  • Before the junction for the Premier Inn there is a crossing point on the left.

Waterworks Road Crossing
