Access Guide
Access To
- F/CENHL Central Hall is located in the centre of Central Hall.
- The most accessible entrance is located on the first floor and enters the hall into the speaker's area.

- The most accessible route has step-free level access and a lift.

- There is no signage on or near the entrance.
- There is step-free level access into F/CENHL Central Hall.
- There are double automatic doors which open towards you.
- The push pad for the automatic doors is at a height of 90cm.
- The width of the opening is 160cm.
- The doors have a high visual contrast.
- There is a push pad or push button to exit at a height of 100cm.
- There are two alternate entrances on the second floor to the balcony with a width of 72cm. These doors are both manual
There is also stepped access from the entrance foyer on the ground floor.
Teaching
- This is a lecture theatre.
- There is step-free level access throughout the room.
- The following areas have stepped access: There are four steps to the lower area of the seating from the speaker's area. All of the tiered seating has stepped access.
- There is a clearly signed fixed hearing assistance system.
- The hearing assistance system could not be tested at the time of the survey.

- Floor coverings are even with no trip hazards.
- The walls and floor have a high visual contrast.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.

- There is tiered seating with a handrail at the ramp that interchanges between left and right.

- The designated spaces for wheelchair users are located in front of the tiered seating to the left and the right of the speaker's area on the first floor of Central Hall.
- There is step-free level access to the designated space surveyed.
- Companions sit next to you.
- There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
- Seating available in the room includes: chairs without armrests and lecture chairs.
- Some chairs are fixed.
- The speaker's desk/table is height adjustable.
- The lectern is height adjustable.
- The lectern can be adjusted to a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- This room has a projector screen.
- The handrail for the steps to the tiered seating changes sides and is not present throughout the full length of the tiered seating.
- Access on entering the Central Hall on the second floor into the balcony area does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
- There is a turning on entering on the first floor via the lift. This entrance leads to the designated seating on the first floor.
