Getting To The Hospital

  • By Road View
    • Barnsley Hospital is located on Gawber Road and the postcode for the Sat-Nav is S75 2EP.
      If coming from the south via the M1, exit at Junction 37 and head towards Barnsley Town Centre on the A628, after approximately 300m turn left at the crossroads onto Pogmoor Road and follow this road and it will bring you directly to the hospital.
      If coming from the north take the A635 towards the town centre and then take the right turn when you reach Wilthorpe Park and follow this road which will take you to the hospital.
    • There are several open air car parks open to the public, they are accessible from Pogmoor Road and off Helensburgh Close.
      Parking charges apply to all car park users and operates a Pay-on Foot system with payment machines in each car park.
  • By Bus View
    • There are several services which drop off outside the hospital on Gawber Road and Pogmoor Road. These include routes 93, 93a, 94, 95, 95a, 96, 96a, 97, 478 and 485 stopping on Gawber Road and routes 44 and 478 stopping on Pogmoor road.
    • There is not an onsite bus stop.
  • By Train View
    • The nearest train station is Barnsley Interchange, and is approximately 1.8km from the hospital. There are several taxi services which run from here.

Getting Help and Assistance

  • There are volunteers available for help and assistance at the hospital.
  • Volunteers can be found near the main entrance, at the bottom of the escalators to Outpatients Reception.

Getting To (Occupational Therapy Outpatients)

  • Access to Occupational Therapy Outpatients is via the Outpatients entrance - C3.
  • Enter via the Outpatients entrance - C3 and go straight ahead past the Café to the lift located on the left. Exit the lift on the first floor and turn left. You will then need to register at the Outpatients reception. Turn left and go past the Pharmacy, through the double doors next to the waiting area and turn right. Follow this corridor and when you reach the toilets the waiting area for Occupational Therapy Outpatients is located on the right. This is seats in the Red Zone corridor.
  • There is step free access, via lift, to Occupational Therapy Outpatients.
  • Occupational Therapy Outpatients is approximately 55m from the lift.
