Introduction

Outside Access (Lift Lobby Front Entrance)

AC Building Front Entrance to the Ground Floor via Platform Lift

  • Turn left as you exit the AC Building and within 3m there is a platform lift. This platform lift will take you down to the ground level, the same level as the road.
  • Then you can access the AD Building via the ground floor.
  • The platform lift has controls at the top, bottom and on the lift itself. The controls are clearly described using pictorial and written signage shown in photograph 4.

Access to the AD Building From the Bottom of the Platform Lift

  • Once you are at the bottom of the platform lift, turn right and follow the pavement between the AC and AD buildings for approximately 8m. On the right side is the entrance to the AD Building.
  • The floor here is block paving and there is a slight ramp leading up to the AD Building side entrance.

Outside Access (School of Economics - Side Entrance)

    • This information is for the entrance located on the left hand side of the building, in the side alley.
    • There is ramped/sloped access at this entrance.
    • There is a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at this entrance.
    • The main door(s) open(s) automatically (towards you).
    • The door(s) is/are push pad activated.
    • The door(s) is / are single.
    • The width of the door opening is 83cm (2ft 9in).
    • There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance, with a height of less than 2cm.
  • Ramp/Slope View
    • There is a ramp/slope at this entrance.
    • The ramp/slope is located in front of the entrance.
    • The ramp/slope gradient is slight.
  • Comments View
    • This entrance gives step free access to level 0 of the building.
    • There is not lift access from this area to the other levels of the building.
    • The height of push pad buttons are 90cm.
    • There are hand gel points outside the entrance at 103cm and 114cm high.
