Introduction

Outside Access (Main Entrance)

    • The door(s) open(s) automatically.

    • The door(s) is / are permanently held open (at the time of the survey).
    • The width of the door opening is 114cm (3ft 9in).
  • Ramp/Slope View
    • There is a ramp/slope at this entrance.
    • The ramp/slope is located in front of the entrance.
    • The ramp/slope does bypass the step(s).
    • The ramp/slope gradient is slight.
    • The ramp is permanent.
    • There is a level landing at the top of the ramp.
    • The ramp does have handrails.
    • The handrails are on both sides.

Campus Central to Crossing to Caedmon

  • Turn right upon exiting the Campus Central main entrance and head to the ramp which can be seen in photograph 2.
  • The surface of the area is block paving.
  • Head down the ramp which has a width of 190cm.
  • There is tactile paving at the top and the bottom of the ramp.
  • At the bottom of ramp the turn to your right and head towards the road.
  • There is a slight downhill slope.
  • The distance between the entrance and the road is approximately 35m.

Head Along the Road

  • Turn left along the road for approximately 40m.
  • There is tactile pavement for the zebra crossing.
  • As you cross the zebra crossing turn left.
  • The surface of the road is tarmac with the occasional manhole cover.
  • There is a slight downhill gradient as you head along the road.
  • As you are heading along the road please treat this part of the route with caution.
  • Traffic will be approaching towards you as you head along the road.
  • The only alternate route to this is to head through the car park between the Caedmon Building and the Priestley Building.

Road to the Car Park

  • After 40m along the road turn right into the car park road to the rear of Priestley Building turn right for approximately 23m.
  • The surface of the road is tarmac with the occasional manhole cover.
  • There is a slight downhill gradient.
  • As this is a car park please be aware of potential traffic.

Car Park to Priestley Hall Accessible Entrance

  • After 23m turn left and head up the accessible entrance ramp into Priestley Hall.
  • The surface of the car park is tarmac.
  • There is a gutter between the main area of the car park and the Blue Badge bays located next to Priestley Hall that you will need to overcome.
  • There is a slight uphill gradient leading to the entrance ramp.

Outside Access (Accessible Entrance)

  • Entrance View
    • This information is for the entrance located to the rear of the building facing the car park.
    • There is ramped/sloped or stepped access at this entrance.
    • The main door(s) open(s) automatically (towards you).
    • The door(s) is/are push pad activated.
    • The door(s) is / are double.
    • The width of the door opening is 120cm (3ft 11in).
    • There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance, with a height of 2cm or below.
  • Ramp/Slope View
    • There is a ramp/slope at this entrance.
    • The ramp/slope is located to the left as you face the entrance.
    • The ramp or slope does bypass the step(s).
    • The ramp/slope gradient is moderate.
    • The ramp is permanent.
    • There is not a level landing at the top of the ramp.
    • The ramp does have handrails.
    • The handrails are on both sides.
    • The width of the ramp is 120cm (3ft 11in).

    • The step(s) is / are located in front of the entrance.
    • There is / are 3 step(s) to access the entrance.
