Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • The health centre is located to the south of the centre of South Shields.
      From the A19 take the A194 towards South Shields.
      After approximately 390m, at the roundabout, take the second exit on to Hadrian Way, to continue along the A194 towards South Shields.
      Continue along the A194 for approximately 862m to the next roundabout.
      At the roundabout take the second exit to continue along the A194 (Newcastle Road) towards South Shields.
      After approximately 260m, at the next roundabout, take the second exit to continue along the A194 towards South Shields.
      After approximately 592m, at the next roundabout, take the second exit to continue along the A194 and take the second exit at the next roundabout.
      At the next roundabout take the third exit on to West Way, signposted Sunderland (A1018).
      After approximately 485m, at the roundabout, take the first exit on to Stanhope Road.
      Proceed along Stanhope Road for approximately 730m and turn left just before the traffic lights on to Gordon Street. The health centre is on the right at the end of the street. The car park is on the left opposite the health centre.
      From the A1018 follow the A1018 to South Shields.
      Stay on the A1018 along King George Road and on to Sunderland Road.
      At the Westhoe Fountain roundabout take the first exit on to the B1301, signposted Riverside.
      After approximately 441m, at the roundabout, take the first exit on to the B1298 (Stanhope Parade).
      Take the right hand lane, and after approximately 88m, at the traffic lights, bear right on to Stanhope Road.
      Take the first right on to Gordon Street. The health centre is on the right at the end of the street. The car park is on the left opposite the health centre.
    • There is ample on-site parking opposite the health centre. The car park is for health centre users only and also provides covered parking for mobility scooters.
  • By Bus View
    • The nearest bus stop is on Stanhope Parade and is served by bus numbers 1, 8, 17, Crusader 26, Whey Aye 5, Whey Aye 50, and Whey Aye 50A.
      From the bus stop proceed up the hill heading away from the roundabout.
      After approximately 58m, at the traffic lights, bear right on to Stanhope Road. Continue along Stanhope Road for approximately 27m and turn right on to Gordon Street. The health centre is on the right after approximately 98m.

    • The nearest station is Heworth, 7.9 miles away. From the station take the Yellow Line Metro, in the direction of South Shields, to Chichester.
