  • This accessible toilet is approximately 37m from the main entrance.
  • There is written text signage on or near the door.
  • There is a manual door which opens outwards and has a fair colour contrast.
  • The door has a twist lock.
  • The width of the accessible toilet door opening is 85cm.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 154cm x 197cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the toilet seat but it is obstructed.
  • The lateral transfer space is 70cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
  • There is a lever flush on the transfer side.

  • Lighting levels are good in the cubicle.

    The standard toilets near marquee are accessed via 3 steps with a handrail on one side, although the nearby Chapel toilets can be used if preferred.

Lift

  • A member of staff does not need to be notified for use of the lift.
  • The floors which are accessible by this lift are G, 1, 2, 3.
  • Externally the lift has: a door with a high colour contrast to the surroundings, buttons with a low colour contrast to the surroundings, controls at a recommended height range (between 90cm - 110cm) and tactile markings.
  • The lift door opening width is 80cm.
  • The dimensions of the lift are 88cm x 88cm.

    • The track to the rear of the estate can be followed to the right which leads to the path uphill to Queen Mary's Mount.
      This area of interest is just outside the grounds within an adjoining estate and is approximately 1 mile from the rear track.
      There are long steep slopes throughout the route.

Accessible Accommodation (Room 310)

  • There is step-free access to the accessible room surveyed, via lift.
  • The bed is zip and link.
  • The height of the bed is 69cm.
  • The room does have an unobstructed minimum turning space of 150cm x 150cm next to the bed.
  • The desk height is not between 73cm and 75cm.
  • The room surveyed has an armchair and a desk chair without armrests.
  • The room has: a moveable bed, a bed which is not at a recommended height (between 45cm - 52cm), plug sockets next to the bed and light switches at a recommended height (between 75cm - 120cm).
  • There is no emergency alarm.
  • There is no hoist available.
  • The room has soft flooring.
  • It was not possible to photograph the accessible bedroom at the time of survey (May 2023).

Ensuite (Accessible Accommodation - Room 310)

  • The ensuite has a manual door which opens outwards.
  • The ensuite does have an unobstructed minimum turning space of 150cm x 150cm.
  • The ensuite has hard flooring.
  • The ensuite does not have a non-slip floor.
  • There is a pull cord emergency alarm but it is not at a recommended height for seated users (within 10cm from the floor) and There is a visual fire alarm device.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the toilet seat but it is obstructed.
  • The toilet seat is at a recommended height from the floor (48cm).
  • Grab rails in the ensuite include: a horizontal grab rail on the door, a vertical grab rail on the transfer side, a horizontal grab rail on the non transfer side and vertical grab rails on both sides of the wash basin.
  • The toilet has a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
  • The height of the toilet roll holder is 88cm.
  • The following fixtures can be reached from the toilet seat: the toilet roll holder.
  • The following fixtures cannot be reached from the toilet seat: the wash basin and the soap dispenser.
  • The ensuite has: a wheel-in shower.
  • The height of the wash basin is 84cm.
  • The wash basin tap type is lever mixer.
  • The height of the soap dispenser is 100cm.
  • There is an adjustable, detachable shower head at a recommended height (between 105cm - 185cm).
  • The shower control type is twist turn.
  • There are no dropdown rails for the shower.

  • Outdoor Seating Areas View
    • There are 4 self-catering cottages with 4 rooms in each. These offer some ground floor rooms and ensuites with walk-in showers.
      Some cottages also offer a ground floor standard bathroom.
      There are stairs to the first floor rooms.
      The cottages were not fully surveyed at this time (May 2023).
