Outdoor Spaces (Tayock Hide Walk)

    • This information is for the access point located at the end of the Brechin Road public car park.
    • There is step-free level access at this access point.
    • There is open access to the area.
  • Outdoor Spaces View

    • Surfaces for the outdoor spaces include: grass, shingle and compact earth.
    • Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor space.

    • There are slight slopes without handrails in the main areas .
    • There are not any bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
    • Tayock Bird Hide is approximately 800 metres from the Brechin Road public car park.
      There are several viewpoints of the Montrose Basin along the path or on short paths off the main path.
      The final path to the hide with trees on the right is narrow and uneven in places.
      There are further hides and walks to the west of the basin, although these are accessed via longer walks over land considered less accessible than the Tayock Hide.
      The NTS House of Dun car park can be used to access the Shelduck Hide and Widgeon Hide, which are approximately 1 mile away over farmland.
      There is parking near the Bridge of Dun to access the path along the River South Esk which has gates to cross.

Accessible Toilet (Left Hand Transfer)

  • This accessible toilet is located to the left as you enter the building.
