    • Footpaths are available in all of the outdoor spaces.
    • The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
    • There are steep slopes without handrails and slight slopes without handrails in the main areas .
    • There are bench seats situated along the paths for people to rest.
    • The gravel path provides access to see most of the lochs in the reserve.
      There is a grass path round to the Sand Martin wall which is has some slight slopes.
      There are steeper slopes through woodland and around sloping banks beyond this.

Entrance (Car Park - The John Compton Hide)

Entrance (Nature Reserve - The Stewart Hide)

  • The entrance surveyed is located to the right of the main path shortly beyond the education room, opposite the teepee.

  • The slope does not have handrails.

Entrance (Nature Reserve - The Gladstone Hide)

  • The entrance surveyed is located to the east of the reserve, taking the anti-clockwise route from the car park.
  • There is step-free access at this entrance, via ramp/slope.
  • The slope has a slight gradient and a width between 75cm and 150cm .
  • The slope does not have handrails.
  • There is a single manual door which opens away from you.
  • The width of the opening is 88cm.
  • There is not a second set of doors.
  • The door handle is 128cm high.

Outdoor Spaces (Farm)

  • Access Point View
    • This information is for the access point located opposite the tearoom.
    • There is step-free access at this access point, via ramp/slope.
    • The slope has a handrail on the left going up.
    • The slope has a slight gradient and a width between 75cm and 150cm.
  • Outdoor Spaces View
    • The following outdoor facilities are available: parkland, a grassed play area and a playground with play equipment.
    • Footpaths are not available in all of the outdoor space.

Accessible Toilet (Tearoom - Left Hand Transfer)

  • This accessible toilet is located to the right as you enter.
  • There is step-free level access into the accessible toilet.
  • This accessible toilet is approximately 3m from the main entrance.
  • There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
  • There is a manual door which opens by sliding and has a poor colour contrast.
  • The door has a twist lock.
  • The width of the accessible toilet door opening is 86cm.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 150cm x 260cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the left of the toilet seat but it is obstructed.
  • The lateral transfer space is 93cm from the side of the toilet pan to the wall.
