Overview

Parking

  • The car park is located in the layby, off the B970 road, opposite the drive that leads to The Hide.
  • The car park is open air/surface.
  • There are no designated Blue Badge parking bays available.
  • Parking is free for all users.
  • The route from the car parking to The Hide has uneven surfaces and a manual gate.
    Visitors can arrive in advance should they wish to park near The Hide entrance.

Entrance

  • This entrance is located at the front of The Hide building.
  • There is step-free level access at the entrance.
  • There is a single manual door at this entrance.
  • The door opens towards you.
  • The width of the opening is 90cm.

Exhibition Space (The Hide)

  • This area is indoors.
  • There is step-free level access throughout all areas.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is no (or very little) background noise.
  • Display information includes: televisions/screens.
  • There is not a hearing assistance system.
  • Seating available in this area includes: chairs without armrests.
  • Furniture available in this area includes: tables, high tables and long tables.

Toilet with Adaptations (Right Hand Transfer)

    • The toilet surveyed is located past the glass house, to the rear of the main house.
    • The most accessible route to the toilet has step-free level access and manual doors.
    • There is step-free level access into the facility.
    • There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the door.
    • The door opens inwards.
    • The width of the door opening is 89cm.
    • The door has a locking handle.
  • Dimensions and Features View
    • There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
    • There is a lateral transfer space to the right as you face the toilet.
    • The lateral transfer space is 89cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
    • There is a push button flush in the centre of the cistern.
    • There is a horizontal grab rail on the non-transfer side.
    • There is a vertical grab rail on the transfer side.
    • There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
    • The toilet seat is 48cm from the floor.
    • There is a wall mounted toilet roll holder, a wash basin, a wall mounted soap dispenser and a wall mounted towel dispenser available.
