Worcester Crowngate Bus Station
- The bus station is situated on a roadway which slopes down from Angel Street, under the Crowngate Shopping Centre car park and out to The Butts.
- The slope downwards is moderate from bus stands J to E and stands K to M.
- The slope is easy from stands D to A and level from stands N to P (shown in photographs 1-5).
- Stands J to E and K to M are not under the roof, although each has a shelter.
Stands N to P are under the car park roof and A to D are enclosed with automatic doors for boarding. - The entrance between stands E and D has an automatic door opening outwards, which is 82cm in width or manual double doors which open both ways, are heavy and 112cm in width.
Inside the doors is a moderate ramp with handrails on both sides and an adjacent flight of three medium height steps which are clearly marked and have handrails on each side (shown in photograph 6). - There are 165cm wide automatic doors, operated by a push button, leading from the enclosed bus station area out, across a marked crossing with tactile warnings, to the island platforms (shown in photographs 7 and 8).
- Stands A to D have an automatic door for access to the bus. There is a slight easy ramp at each set of doors to overcome the slope of the building and give access to the bus (shown in photographs 9 and 10).
Access to Crowngate Shopping Centre and Car Park
- Within the enclosed section of the bus station is a lift, steps and escalators to the shopping centre level which gives access to the shops, ground floor car park level and the car park lifts.
- The standard lift is 200cm x 210cm, with a separate entrance and exit doors which are 110cm in width. The controls are 110cm from the floor and there are audible and visual indicators, tactile markings on the controls and a hearing loop.
- There are 15+ medium height steps with a level landing, that are clearly marked and have handrails on both sides.
- The escalators are situated behind the steps. The escalator head, foot and steps are not clearly marked.
