York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a comprehensive range of specialist acute and community healthcare services for approximately 800,000 people living in York, North and East Yorkshire and Ryedale - an area covering 3,400 square miles.
We manage community-based services in Selby and York, and deliver a wide range of acute and elective services in our hospitals in Scarborough, York and Bridlington, as well as outpatient services across all of our localities.
Our annual turnover is approaching £0.5bn. We manage eight hospital sites and have a workforce of nearly around 9,000 staff.
The Trust covers one of the biggest geographical areas in the country. We work closely with our local Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and local authorities to ensure our services are developed to meet the needs of our patients.
We are a NHS Foundation Trust which gives us greater freedom and more formal links with patients and staff.
This project has been funded by York and Scarborough Hospitals Charity.
