Access Guide
Introduction
- Services / facilities within the building include Access Services.
- The office is located in room CG29 on the ground floor of the Henry Grattan Building alongside other services within the Student Support and Development department.
- The work of the DCU Access Service can be broadly divided into four key areas.
These are:
1. DCU Access Outreach Programme - Provides support to DEIS Schools, Communities and Access eligible individuals in North Dublin through the U & University, UniTY, and UFirst programmes.
2. Entry Routes for Leaving Cert Students - Facilitates three separate Entry Routes through which Leaving Certificate students can apply to study at DCU on an Access Scholarship. These are: Access DCU, HEAR and DCU Accelerator.
3. Support to Access Scholars in DCU - Provide financial, academic, professional and personal development supports to Access Scholars studying at undergraduate and postgraduate level in DCU.
4. Conduct / Commission Research - Conduct and commission research which helps inform the work of the Access Service, create best practice and impact upon the wider national and international Access Agenda. - Henry Grattan Building link (new tab) - click here.

Getting Here (Glasnevin Campus)

By Road
View
- From the M50 take the R108 Ballymun Road exit (Junction 4). At the junction take the R108 Ballymun Road south. Continue 2km to the Collins Avenue/Ballymun Road crossroads.
For Dublin City University Glasnevin campus main entrance and car parks 1 and 2, turn left on to Collins Avenue. Dublin City University is located 700m to the right after the third set of traffic lights on Collins Avenue.
For Dublin City University Glasnevin campus residences and car parks 3 and 4, continue straight ahead on Ballymun Road for 500m to the traffic lights. DCU is located to the left.
From City Centre: - Follow the airport road towards the M1. Continue until you reach the junction at Whitehall. At this crossroads, turn left onto Collins Avenue. Continue along Collins Avenue until you pass St. Aidan’s CBS on your left-hand side. DCU is located just after the school. - There are two car parks off Collins Avenue: Car Park 1 multi-storey for staff, students, visitors and guests; and Car Park 2 surface car park for staff and student permit holders.
There are two car parks off Ballymun Road: Car Parks 3 and 4 for staff and student permit holders.

- Buses 16, 31d, 42d, 44, 70d, 104, 220 and 220A stop on campus by The Helix (Stop # 7571). Buses 109a and 126 stop on Collins Ave (Stop # 135021). Buses 4, 9, 11, 13 stop on Ballymun Road (Stop # 37/4680).
