- The Tower Building is a large building which is split into various zones (Green, Red, Yellow, Blue). This guide focuses on the Red Zone.

The Red Zone is located towards the rear off the Holloway Road Campus area.

In order to reach the Red Zone you must travel through either the Blue or Yellow Zones first. The Blue and Yellow zones can be accessed directly off Holloway Road.
- The Red Zone is a large area of the Tower Building with three floors.
- There is 1 main lift shared with the The Tower Building - Yellow Zone and 3 main staircases.
- The floors are signed as the ground, first and second floors. .
- The Tower Building is a large building which is split into various zones (Green, Red, Yellow, Blue). This guide focuses on the Red Zone.

- The venue does not have its own car park.
- The nearest underground station is Holloway Road.

Getting Inside
- To get to the Red Zone it is necessary to access the campus via the Blue Zone or the Yellow Zone off Holloway Road, and then either exit into the Outer Courtyard and enter the Red Zone from there, or enter via internal links on the ground and second floors (Yellow Zone only) or first floor (Blue and Yellow Zones).
The approach to the Red Zone via the Outer Courtyard is a mostly level. - There are 3 external entrances into the building located off the Outer Courtyard.
- There are 7 internal entrances into the The Tower Building - The Red Zone. There are 3 from the Blue Zone on the first floor, 1 from the Green Zone on the first floor and 3 from the Yellow Zone on floors ground, first and second.
- Entrance 8 is signed as Entrance 8, Welcome to Yellow Zone, Access to Rodin Building. A campus map is located at this entrance.

Entrance 5 is signed as Entrance 5, Welcome to Red Zone. There is also a campus map here.

Entrance 6 is signed as Entrance 6, Welcome to Red Zone, and there is also a campus map here.
- The link entrances are signed Welcome to the Red Zone with some having additional directional signage for nearby facilities.
- Entrance 8 has step-free access via ramp and a set of push-pad automatic double doors. The entrance leads directly to the building main lift.
- Entrance 6 has a slight ramp leading to a set of double manual doors beyond which are five 15cm steps with handrails on each side and another set of manual doors.

Entrance 5 has a slight ramp which bypasses steps leading to a set of double manual doors.

The Green Zone first floor link entrance has a slight ramp with handrails on either side. The ramp leads up to a platform lift which accesses the Red Zone. The ramp bypasses a set of seven 17cm steps with handrails on either side that lead to a set of double manual doors.

There are 3 entrances into the Red Zone from the Blue Zone on the first floor, all of which have steep ramps with handrails on each side leading to sets of double manual doors that are permanently held open.
- There is step-free access on the ground, first and second floors via link entrances from Yellow Zone.
Getting Around
- There is step-free level access throughout the building on all floors.
- Floor surfaces along all circulation routes are hard and smooth, with some having a shiny finish.
- There are resting areas in some circulation and lobby areas with a mixture of seating.
- Overhead and wall mounted wayfinding signage is provided throughout the building.
- Signage is colour coded and also shows features within the Blue, Green and Yellow Zones.
- Maps of all the Blue, Green, Red and Yellow zones are also provided. .
- There are manual doors along some circulation routes.
- The corridor to room TM--31 has a width of 80cm.

- Toilets with adaptations are located along the corridors on the ground and first floors.
- All toilets with adaptations have a right hand transfer space.
- The male step-free toilet facilities are located on the ground floor and on staircase 6 and 8 between the ground and first floor.
- The female step-free toilet facilities are located on the second floor.
- The male and female step-free toilet facilities are located on the first floor and between the first and second floors on staircase 6.
Entrance (Entrance 8)
- This entrance is located off the courtyard near the link to Yellow Zone.
- The entrance area is clearly signed.
- There is not a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.
- There is step-free access via ramp at the entrance.
- The ramp has a slight gradient.
- The ramp is over 150cm wide with no handrails.
- The doors open towards you.
- There is a push pad at a height of 98cm.
- The width of the opening is 120cm.
- The doors have a medium visual contrast.
- The entrance is signed as providing access to the Yellow Zone and the Rodin Building.
- There is a a doorway after the first set of entrance doors with no doors and a width of 150cm.
- There is step-free level access as you enter.
Lift
- The lift surveyed is located just inside Entrance 8 between the red and the yellow zones. It is accessed off the red zone on the ground floor.
- The distance from Entrance 8 is 1m.
- The most accessible route to the lift has step-free level access.
- The ground, first, second and third (Yellow Zone Only) are accessed by this lift.
- The lift door has a high visual contrast.
- The lift has a level manoeuvring space in front of it for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- The weight limit for the lift is 960kg.
- The external lift control buttons have tactile markings and a high visual contrast.
- All of the external lift controls are at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
- The lift door opening width is 105cm.
- The internal dimensions of the lift are 205cm (width) x 112cm (depth).

Stairs (Staircase 6)
- The stairs surveyed are located in the centre of the red zone.
- There are double manual doors to access the stairwell.
- The ground, first and second floors can be accessed by these stairs.
- There are 20+ steps between floors.
- The steps are clearly marked and have handrails on both sides.
- The handrails are not easy to grip.
- The handrails cover the flight of stairs throughout its length.
- The handrails do not extend horizontally beyond the first and last step.
- The height of the steps is between 15cm and 18cm.
- The height of the highest step is 15cm.
- The depth of the steps is not between 30cm and 45cm.
