Getting To (Pathology)

The most accessible route from the Blue Badge parking bays has a very easy slope, uneven surfaces and a dropped kerb.

Access to Pathology is via the Main Entrance.
There is not a drop-off point at this entrance.

Pathology is located on Level 3 of the Orange Wing.
Pathology is approximately 65m from the Blue Wing Lifts.
Enter the Blue Wing of the hospital via the Main Entrance.
Proceed straight ahead through the atrium to the Blue Wing Lifts.
Take a lift to Level 3.
Exit the lift and turn left.
Continue straight ahead through the doors and along the corridor.
Turn left at the end of the corridor and proceed ahead.
Turn right at the end of this corridor, entering the Orange Wing and Pathology is located directly ahead of you.
Internally the most accessible route has step-free level access, a lift and doors permanently held open.
Some flooring along the route is shiny.
There are resting areas along the route.
Wayfinding signage is provided.
Signage is clearly visible with high contrasting colours.
The following toilet facilities are available along the route; a toilet with adaptations (with left hand transfer) and standard toilets.

This entrance is located to the side of the hospital, diagonally to the left as you face the Blue Badge bays.
The approach to the entrance has uneven surfaces.

There is a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.

The ramp has a slight gradient.
The ramp is over 150cm wide with a handrail on the left going up.
There are double automatic doors at this entrance.

There is step-free access via ramp as you enter.

The second ramp is located between the first and second sets of doors at the entrance.
This entrance brings you onto Level 2 of the hospital. .

The lift surveyed is located in the centre of the Blue Wing, straight ahead and on your left as you enter the hospital through the Main Entrance.
The distance from the Main Entrance is 43m.
The most accessible route to the lift has step-free level access and doors permanently held open.
Levels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 are accessed by this lift.
The lift door has a high visual contrast.
The lift has a level manoeuvring space in front of it for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
The external lift control buttons have tactile markings, Braille markings and a high visual contrast.
All of the external lift controls are at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
