Equipment and Resources to Borrow
- You can borrow or hire the following equipment: a mountain trike, a manual wheelchair and manual wheelchairs. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
- You can borrow or hire the following mobility vehicles: mobility scooters. It is highly recommended that these are booked in advance, where this is possible. Please check the National Trust website for details.
Route to (Stable Shops)
- The shops are located within the Stables Courtyard.
There is a surfaced path leading from the Hardwicke Gate and Visitor Arrivals to the Stables Courtyard. - The route to the area is step-free via a slight ramp/slope.
- Path surfaces along the route are cobbles and bonded gravel.
- The majority of the paths are wide enough for wheelchair users.
- There is an accessible shuttle which can take visitors to this area.
Shop (Stables)
- Access into the shop is via a slight ramp/slope.
- The door is manual, permanently held open and has a low colour contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The width of the door opening is 88cm.
- The majority of aisle widths are over 150cm.
- All flooring in the shop is smooth and even.
- There is step-free level access around the shop.
- There is no (or very little) background noise here.
- Lighting levels are moderate to good.
- There is step-free level access to the counter.
- The height of the counter is 92cm.
- There is not a low level counter at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
