    About Midland Metropolitan University Hospital

Midland Metropolitan University Hospital has been designed around modern, efficient and patient-centred care, bringing acute services into a purpose-built environment. The hospital makes extensive use of natural light, with bright clinical spaces, floor-to-ceiling windows and access to green spaces and a winter garden to support recovery, wellbeing and a calmer experience for patients, visitors and staff.

Half of patient beds are in single ensuite rooms, improving privacy, dignity and infection prevention, while wards and clinical areas have been planned to support safer, more joined-up care. For patients and visitors, ample parking beneath the hospital helps make arrival and access more straightforward.

Key facilities include a purpose-built Emergency Department with imaging and diagnostics, a dedicated children’s emergency department, operating theatres for emergency, major planned surgery and maternity, a midwife-led birthing unit, neonatal unit, same day emergency care, and a specialist sickle cell and thalassaemia centre.
