About St. Edmund's College

Since 1896, St Edmund’s has provided a home for students from backgrounds under-represented at Cambridge and for those who feel otherwise excluded from the teaching, learning, and research of the University. We are proud of this legacy and continue to prize equity, diversity, belonging, and inclusion in all aspects of College life.

We welcome students of all faiths and none and the College is particularly proud of its ‘faith-friendly’ approach, recognising the important role faith plays in many students’ lives.

The college occupies a 10-acre site, ideally situated for access to the West Cambridge site, Sidgwick site, and the faculties and departments located in the city centre. We have over 300 rooms on site with around 200 of these en suite.

A College for postgraduate and mature undergraduate (over 21s) students, the average age of our students is around 23. We have a single study body with undergraduates and postgraduates organising events and socialising together, represented by one student committee (the CR).

St Edmund’s is a friendly, relaxed, and non-hierarchical College but there are regular formal dinners and even our own (free!) College punts for an unmistakable Cambridge experience.
